THE WORLD OF DINOSAUR: Bootleg Dragons

This crazy cool set of 12 dragons is completely devoid of any company identification.  No name or date on the box and no markings on the figures.  The dragons are about 3 inchs tall and are probably all copies of other toy lines.  This is classic old school Chinese bootlegging at its best.  Most of these dragons are up on two legs with arms that look human like.  Read the story on the side of the box at the bottom, it is insane but awesome. These seem to be hard to find.

A good match for the dragon that hit Dollar Tree a few years ago.

So crazy it must be true.

What are these?

  1. Those last two are currently available as just Dragons at Dollarama stores in Canada.

  2. I love the suggestion that they are educational.

  3. I have recently seen very similar dragon figures in a bagged and carded set, sold at an amusement park giftshop in New Hampshire.

  4. Heh, I just found out the strange grey one with a Styracosaurus-ish head is actually bootlegged from a Monoblos miniature, based on the video game series Monster Hunter.

As for the dragons in the last pic where you ask "what are these", they're larger dragon figurines often just sold as Dragons. In Canada, Dollarama sold them under their Montoy brand (think a Canadian version of Funtastic). You can see the funkier one in this ebay auction:
