I just came across this new skeleton pirate playset from Bluebox. This set is exclusive to Target, like the Toy Major sets that are exclusive to Toys R Us. Unlike the Toy Major set, these are real skeleton pirates, not just skeleton warriors v. pirates. The figures are about 50mm. There are five skeleton pirates and five living pirates. The accessories include a craggy skull mountain, a shark, a palm tree, a rowboat, bone cages and a bunch bone rail fence sections. Not a bad set. I hope Bluebox makes some more fantasy themed sets. Bluebox is working on an Orcs v. Elves fantasy set. Stad's has some pictures.
Wow, these are great! I like how much detail these have, a lot better than the Skeleton Warriors Vs Pirates figures. As usual, the accessories seem way out of scale, but I really like the skull mountain non the less.
Hi Mason its Darren from England ive managed to have a look at the Skeleton figures that you offered me and i am interested in buying them from you. I thought you meant the BlueBox Skeleton which i like and i want but as i said to you before i want a full tub if possible. Anyway back to the Skeletons you are offering, How many do you have to sell? How much do you want for them? And if possible could you get me a full tub of these figures? I look very much to hearing from you. Regards Darren
I really like these Skeleton Pirate figures, I would have preferred that they were more Ancient or Medieval themed but Pirate is fine, But im even more excited about the Upcoming Orcs and Knights figures coming from this Company. Ive been hoping that a set like this would come out for a long time and i will Definately buy a Tub or 2 of these figures when they become available and i hope that they are easy to get hold of. Cant Wait. Darren from England
Hey Darren, I'm selling some of my Pirates Vs. Skeletons if you're interested. Most of the skeletons have more of an ancient look to them. I have traded off the bulk of the figures, but I have at least one of each mold I think.
Here's the set: http://ditreasures.blogspot.com/2013/10/frightful-friday-all-new-crimson-crew.html
Hi Mason thanks for the offer but im prepeared to wait until these figures are out again (Hopefully) so that i can buy a full tub of figures, Which i hope wont be to long as ive looked around the internet and i cant find any. However i beleive that they will be available again soon along with the New Orcs and Knights figures, So ive heard. By the way i cant click on to see your figures where youv'e put Heres the set for some reason, But as i say thanks for the offer mate. Regards Darren
Here is more information from Stads. 8 poses each of Orcs in black and Elf Knights in Gold. size is 52 - 54 mm. $9.99 US per bucket. This set looks much better than the Toys R Us Legendary Warrior bucket that has about 8 poses each of character figures and no "army" poses. Also, the TRU set's figures are mostly undersized compared to other toy soldier lines.
I noticed that Stad's says 8 poses, but there are only 5 poses in the pictures. The pirate set only has 5 poses for each side. I suspect that Stad's has it wrong and we will only see 5 poses of orcs and 5 of elves when the set hits stores. I hope I'm wrong about that, I would love more poses.
STADS base in formation of figures on picture supplied from NYTF. The account was done by me on what I saw in pictures and information was taken vocally from BB member ;distribution information was supplied at same place to me by representative of BB with approximate time frame; rent space of 3x4 ' at target and they send 3er party distributor to set product line space with label in shelves. It depend in speed of communication between local target -distribution ,stores and vendor set up to had pirates sets, include ship not release yet and much later knights /orks. After looking later at pictures view I only see 5 orks and 5 knights poses. Till this moment I have not more information and it is third set of BB in this line in their old line tradition of 45/50 mm scale been first the nice modern soldiers already sold at target as well in 2013/14.Base in their sale of same line they produce these two sets .
Pose breakdown for Orcs seems to be one Uruk-Hai with 2 axes, 1 man-sized wingless Balrog with flaming sword, 2 lesser Orcs and one Ringwraith. I wish they had made one very large winged Balrog per set and added more regular Orcs and Uruk Hai poses.
The elf or knight poses look very nice. No complaints.
